Open Banking + Open Utilities

Open Banking + Open Utilities

Our vision: bringing together banking and utilities

Coming 2018

Open banking is designed to put consumers in control of their data; providing an easier way for consumers to manage and make more of their finances through the application of technology and open access to appropriate services.

But how many times have you looked at a bank statement, app or transaction and thought…

The average UK household pays for most if not all of these services

Services UK Households use
The record of payment alone won’t tell you

When a contract auto renews or expires
Your actual usage vs direct debit amount
When a minimum or offer period ends
Any provider account balances you may have
About credit agreements or insurance documents
About important dates of MOT’s, services, certificates

In order to understand this information, we need utility data #openutilities

That’s why we’re designing a unique solution that can bring together both bank and utility data.

Payments and Bills together
It’s now possible to provide the consumer with a next-generation experience whereby a transaction is identified within a banking environment, and is then automatically reconciled with the corresponding utility bill.

Everything truly in one place
This will enable the consumer to simply click into the line item in order to see the bill and understand how it was arrived at.
Your bills are no longer hidden in the
post pile, in an email or scattered across various online accounts.
They’re one tap away in Onedox.

Loyalty doesn’t pay

We think that consumers should pay a fair rate for the services they consume as a rule and not an exception.
To this end, consumers are shown, at a glance, the contractual status of all of their utilities. They receive automatic reminders when action needs taking, and can receive assistance in order to optimise them, without needing to independently search the market for the best deals.

Now is the time.

The consumer transparency and control at the heart of the principles of open utilities, open banking and GDPR, offers a unique opportunity to truly change the status quo for consumers.
